California is the world's largest producer of almonds. With its unique climate, ideal growing conditions and abundant water supply, the 500-mile span from the Sacramento Valley to the Souther San Joaquin Valley produces more than 80% of the global almond supply and 100% of the domestic supply. Over 70% of California's crop is exported, primarily to Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. The remainder of the crop is consumed by the United States, the single largest market for California almonds.
